[ Oh god. Oh man. Alberto’s been neglecting his phone since Luca arrived… almost 48 hours ago. In fact, Alberto was about to text Bruno to ask if he wanted to come over for dinner, finally tuning into one of the text dings to remind him of his phone’s existence, but… is instead confronted with a borage of missed texts and calls. Having never missed a text or call from Bruno, it didn’t occur to Alberto this would be the reaction. At first, he’s amused reading off the first two silly 3am-type epiphanies Bruno had shared aloud to Luca off-hand, but as Bruno’s panic is clearly mounting, he quickly shifts moods reading the rest, a weird mix of feeling guilty and feeling touched washing over him — verklempt, to say the least.
After half a moment to process and deliberate, he figures, well, Bruno said he’s already on his way… So… he’ll save the explanations for in person. Cuz, really, the explanation will take one glance, literally a single second, until Alberto trusts that all will be forgiven…
All Bruno gets, then, is an equal parts relieving and mystifying text back at long last: ]

[ It's a conflicted and mixed feeling reading Bruno say again outright that he's worried about Alberto. And not in the way, say, his dad might have said it, so many years ago now – not as if Alberto's the source of worry. He's still not totally sure he's not in trouble with Bruno, which is an even weirder feeling, a potential he'd never really considered before, and it makes him low-key apprehensive for Bruno's arrival... Is Alberto about to get scolded? Silent treatment? Is he going to see Bruno angry for the first time? But somehow... it doesn't really read like Bruno is angry, exactly.
Indeed: Bruno just seems worried. Like, for Alberto's wellbeing or something. Which still feels new. He's had so much whiplash in figuring out how to take care of himself, thrown off by the reliably inconsistent pattern of long stretches of isolation between caretakers: living with his dad, solitude, with Massimo, solitude, with the fairies, solitude, with Bruno, solitude again... But this time, not really. Recently, ever since leaving Stardew, living on his own again has felt different than before, because Bruno is still very much involved in his life, even after they parted ways, which has been hard to navigate those lines in the sand, in the first place... And now Luca is finally here!
Still, it's a lot at once. Alberto's not thinking about his emotional backdrop all that deeply, but it still makes him feel confused and weirdly guilty, but somehow also not at all guilty, that he went AWOL from their daily texts... Because: Luca!!! C'mon!!! But maybe he should have afforded a moment for Bruno... It just didn't occur to him Bruno would be worried so soon. It's bittersweet? The best he can do is swallow this weird feeling for now, and make this dinner the best, funniest, most-anticipated introduction he can. If he keeps his good humor and usual nonchalant airs about him, despite Bruno's worry, then... that'll dissolve his own worry inside. Right? Right. ]

Alberto had already started making dinner, before it occurred to him mid-prepping that tonight should be the night to invite Bruno over to meet Luca, since this really is a top priority for him. He didn't forget, he just... forgot. He takes a deep breath and collects himself, and returns to the kitchen to keep cooking, wearing a halfhearted smile as he comes up on Luca in there. ]
Heyyy, Luca... My friend's gonna come over for dinner. He just texted.

So with that, he goes about cooking again, checking on the penne boiling in the pot before continuing the chicken he'd been about to fry up, chatting with Luca as he works, smiling all the while. ]

This modest apartment seems so luxurious to him. He barely even realizes he's perpetually broke. He's tossing into the pan of chicken some garlic he'd minced and abandoned on the errant whim to text Bruno, fluid and comfortable in his movements and multitasking. Just the same, he continues the conversation without barely a hitch. ]

Having been uncertain if the murderous shrimp in question was part of the joke he wasn’t getting, he decided to Google “exploding shrimp,” and found that this creature is very much real… He’s more taken by that than the funny video — but not wholly amused. It stirred up stronger feelings than he’d expected, rather than just some wild trivia about an interesting animal as a novelty like intended. By the end of the second video he found, he was shaking his head... ]
